How Does the Sentricon® System Work?

The Sentricon System uses strategically placed bait stations to take advantage of normal subterranean termite foraging behavior. Stations containing Recruit® HD termite bait are installed in the soil around the structure, making the bait available when termites encounter the stations.

Termites are not attracted to the stations from a distance. Instead, foraging termites discover the bait as they search for food. Sentricon reports that, in laboratory testing, termites consumed nearly 10 times more Sentricon bait than wood.

The active ingredient, noviflumuron, prevents termites from successfully molting and developing. Worker termites feed on the bait and share it throughout the colony. Over time, the disruption causes the colony to decline until it can no longer sustain itself.
